He is a large Shinigami with thick, bushy eyebrows. He is known for his braided hair.[1] He wears a customized version of the standard Shinigami uniform, which leaves the left side of his chest and abdomen bare. He has a tattoo of three tomoe, much like those featured upon the tsuba of his Zanpakutō, encircling each other on his left shoulder.[2]
edit Personality
Tatsufusa has an ego to match his size. When he meets with Sado in battle, he swings his sword in a random, almost idiotic fashion while making ridiculous sounds. Tatsufusa secretly has feelings for the 2nd Division Captain Soifon.[1] His feelings for Soifon have formed part of the story for multiple Colorful Bleach chapters.
edit Plot
Soul Society arc
Tatsufusa attempted to halt the advance of Yasutora Sado towards the location of Rukia Kuchiki. Moments after Sado sends numerous Shinigami flying through a wall, Tatsufusa steps out in front of Sado, telling Sado that he picked the wrong path and that he would stop him there. Tatsufusa then begins to swing his sword wildly around him while making strange sounds. He claims that this is an impenetrable defense, but Sado defeats him with a single punch to the face, sending him flying. Sado says there were too many openings. [3]
edit Powers & Abilities
Expert Swordsmanship Specialist: Tatsufusa is a self-proclaimed master of sword-fighting. He is capable of swinging his sword around his body at high speed, in a bid to prevent his opponent from striking him. This technique has only been beaten once - by Yasutora Sado.[4]
Zanpakutō
Hōzan (崩山, Avalanche), Tatsufusa's Zanpakutō takes the form of a normal katana with a red hilt and a short piece of red string tied to the hilt. The tsuba is ovoid and has lines radiating from the centre outward as well as 4 circles.[2]
* Shikai: While its Shikai has not been revealed, it is released by the command "Dance Madly" (乱舞せよ, Ranbuseyo).[1]
* Bankai: Not yet achieved.
